Gulf Air is the principal flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain and is one of the oldest airlines in the Middle East. There are three levels of frequent flyer memberships, which are blue, silver and gold. There a number of unique features of the Gulf air frequent flyer program, some of which are:

• The number of points you earn will depend on the route and the class in which you have flown
• For flying in Falcon Golden class you will earn double the miles you would earn in flying economy
• Silver and Gold members earn 25% and 50% additional points on top of the bonus points earned for flying in Falcon Gold
• Once you attain Silver or Gold status the number of loyalty points required to retain them are reduced
• Gold members who earn 10,000 loyalty points in 5 years are awarded a life membership.

The number of points are accumulated and awarded regardless of which class you travel in. for awarding loyalty points Gulf Air has divided its network into zones. The loyalty point can be used for free tickets or class upgrades. The loyalty points are updated every quarter.

You need to accumulate 900 loyalty points to qualify for the silver membership. Once you get the silver membership you get 15kgs additional baggage privilege. Plus you will receive 25% additional miles bonus on the miles travelled. You are guaranteed to get a seat on a fully booked flight in economy class if you call Gulf Air call center before flight departure. You also get access to the Golden Lounges at various airports that Gulf Air operates to.

You have to accumulate 2,500 loyalty points to qualify for gold membership. To retain this membership you will need to accumulate 1,750 points annually. Gold class members are given preferential treatment on Gulf Air. You will be guaranteed an economy class seat on a flight that’s fully booked if you call up the call center 48 hours before the flight departs. You will be allowed to avail all the Gold Falcon lounge facilities along with a companion at all the destinations where Gulf Air has these lounges. You will get an extra baggage allowance of 20kgs. You will receive a bonus of 50% on the air miles that you travel.
